Over Easter I had a whimsy to make soup. I always thought it would be too fiddly but with a couple of easy recipes and a stick blender I gave it a whirl.

First up an original Cranks tomato and red lentil soup. This was quite interesting as it had like a smokey bacon flavour under the tomato but this was achived by adding marmite. So veggie but for those who lament bacon a bit of a fix. 

Next, leek and potato. Really easy Rose Elliot recipe. It simmers out really gloupy. Quite yummy. I’ve really noticed the taste of homemade and how much you can make for a fraction of the cost.

Maybe  my soup making will bring on a long hot summer and my soup making will be on hold, but i really enjoyed making the ones I have tried so far.
