Currently a Robochef blog favourite rum is Sailor Jerry (there are other rums available)
It seems it can enhance many a desert recipe, but as the party season approaches why not try the following drinkies:-
Jerry & Cola
Cuba Libre style – squeeze 2 wedges of lime into a glass and leave wedges in there. Pour over 2 measures of Sailor Jerry and top up with cola.
Jerry & Ginger (a Robochef favourite)
Squeeze 2 wedges of fresh lime into an ice-filled glass and leave wedges in there. Pour over 1 measure of Sailor Jerry and top up with ginger ale.
Pour 1 measure of Sailor Jerry into an ice-filled glass and enjoy.
Hello Sailor (One a friend should try if they love sherry so much)
30mls Sailor Jerry Rum
20mls Golden rum
10mls Pedro Ximinez Sherry
10mls Mandarine Napoleon
15mls lemon juice
15mls lime juice
Mix all ingredients in a shaker, add ice, shake and strain. Sugar rim the glass and add orange horse’s neck garnish. Served in a flute.
The above recipes can be found on the Sailor Jerry website, but they really insist that you find your own favourite ways of enjoying it. I really quite like it with ice and cream soda.
As always, it may feel like drinking “pop” but hope you can still feel your knees when you slide off the bar stool.
