Wow, all this dashing about, I wish the shops would close then I can stop worrying about not having enough food and drink to last a year. (shops are only shut two day max. as it is, right? So what’s the fuss?)

Anyway, time for one of my favourite drinks this Christmas, Mulled Wine! (yay!!!!!!!!)

1 bottle of red wine
150ml Grand Marnier
100ml brandy
1 Orange Peel
1 Lemon Peel
4 tbsp of clear honey
Chopped root ginger
1 tsp of Allspice
1 Cinnamon Stick
Half tsp of whole cloves

Slowly heat the alcohols in a large saucepan and gently simmer for about 10 minutes. Add the orange and lemon peels, honey, ginger and spices, then remove from the heat and let it infuse for at least 20 minutes. Before serving, reheat gently, then strain into a jug.
